Things to Hear in Boise, Idaho

KISS – July 7, Taco Bell Arena, 7:30pm

KISS is still at it! “Freedom to Rock,” KISS’s 25+ city tour stops in Boise on July 7 at the Taco Bell Arena. The original goal behind this highly anticipated tour was to take KISS to cities they have not visited in over 10 years. Caleb Johnson, American Idol season 13 winner, opens for the classic rock legends. For more information and tickets, click here.


10th Annual Salsa Idaho Festival
June 11, Knitting Factory, 8pm

Featuring CANDELA, a salsa band from the San Francisco Bay, the 10th Annual Salsa Idaho Festival begins on June 1 and runs every 2 days into August. This 21+ event includes a full bar with ID, food available to order, a large dance floor, and VIP seating. If you’re a newbie to salsa, come early at 9pm for beginner lessons in merengue, bachata, and salsa. CANDELA and other local bands, including DJ Giovanni Giron, runs from 10pm to 2am. Idaho Shakespeare Festival

The Idaho Shakespeare Festival has been running since May 27, with its opening show And Then There Were None (which runs until July 31), a dramatic interpretation of Agatha Christie’s classic murder-mystery. Also currently showing is the classic romantic-comedy musical, My Fair Lady (July 1 to August 6). Upcoming is August is Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, a comedy of disguise and mistaken identity. Ring in the autumn with Forever Plaid, a jukebox musical, running from September 2 to 25. The Idaho Shakespeare Festival has been providing quality theater to Boise since 1977. One Mic Stand Comedy Mondays
Every Monday from August to November

Love to laugh? Check out the One Mic Stand Comedy Mondays, at the Playhouse. Taking place every Monday from August to November 28, you’ll be able to catch a combination of national touring professional comedians and aspiring local acts, from 8pm on. With drink specials all night long, you’ll be able to hear comedians at the top of the game as well as ones polishing their acts. Support the first-time comedians on the open mic as well! Ste. Chapelle Summer Concert Series
Every Sunday, until September 24, 2016

Ste. Chapelle, Idaho’s finest winery, presents a weekly Sunday concert series beginning July 3 and running to September 24. The concert series takes place at Ste. Chapelle’s beautiful grounds, and includes tasty food from local vendors. Sample some of the local wines of Idaho while luxuriating in the great outdoors.
